MLM does present a spectacular opportunity, but in order to take advantage of that opportunity, participants in MLM programs must have an understanding of how to succeed in the business. There is no simple answer to “how do I make MLM work for me.” The flexibility and uniqueness of MLM strategies, after all, are part of what makes the process so exciting. However, there are certain characteristics every successful multi-level marketer needs to have.

First, of course, is choosing the right program. Anyone hoping to be successful with MLM needs to choose the right products and programs to promote. Often, especially for beginner marketers, choosing a product that fits with existing interests makes a great deal of sense. It provides the marketer with an understanding of his or her market and allows him or her to “speak” credibly and with authority on the product.

A strong interest in a product is helpful, but it is probably not as important as choosing a MLM program that has a strong payout structure and either tackles an underserved market or approaches an established market in a unique manner. This is one characteristic common to both MLM marketing and other business opportunities. MLM programs should allow for recruitment of a strong downline, enabling one to take advantage of the sales created by their recruits. Likewise, MLM participants should strive to align themselves with reputable programs when evaluating their options.

In addition to choosing the right product, another key to MLM success is hard work. Often, new multi-level marketers see the seemingly infinite opportunities provided by a MLM structure and mistakenly believe they will be able to generate a substantial income immediately and without effort. The boundless opportunities in multi-level marketing do, however, require effort on the part of the marketer. Fortunately, hard work for MLM users tends to produce very real and significant results.

Talented MLM participants always consider both parts of the two-pronged MLM structure. They focus not only on selling the selected product, but also upon recruiting other talented marketers to participate in the program. Those who focus only on direct sales find themselves reaping only a fraction of the total benefit available to them. Similarly, those who direct all efforts toward building a downline are unable to grab their share of immediate sales income. Keeping one’s eye on the “big picture” is essential to successful MLM participation.

The most successful multi-level marketers are also dedicated to improving their techniques and learning more about the industry and its evolution. MLM programs and approaches change and keeping abreast of new programs and new techniques is critical to success. Most MLM experts subscribe to numerous ezines and newsletters. They actively seek out information and strategies in marketing forums and are always on the lookout for any new thing they can use toward their advantage. Any MLM participant who hopes to find a single simple methodology they can always embrace without change is likely to encounter disappointment.

There are other keys to online MLM success that mirror success in any business. One must be committed, motivated, and patient. MLM offers one of the greatest opportunities for financial gain available–one need only bring the right attitude, dedication and strategy with them to make the most of their MLM involvement.

Play with yourself, imagine that you were independently wealthy, worth millions of dollars. The way you see yourself is the way you will be on the outside.

That is how top people think all day long which is why they have more energy, more sparkle, they make more sales where they are more positive and influential with other people, and you can do it yourself just by talking to yourself in a positive way. Next take positive action. Get going, get busy, get moving, and develop a sense of urgency. You will find that all successful people are intensely action oriented.

You have the unlimited ability to be one of the top sales people in your industry if you will just take these ideas and principles and practice them every day. If you do, you will have no limits. If you’re anything like me, you know that you’ve been doing everything you possibly can for MLM success. If I were to guess, you have probably:

Invested a lot of time, money, and energy working to build your business.

Attended local and out-of-state meetings to get, what is believed to be, “the latest and greatest trainings”from your MLM company.

Bugged the hell out of your family and friends to the point where you feel uncomfortable just thinking of their names.

Listened and applied everything your upline has told you to do, because you see how successful they are and always thinking to yourself, “this has to work! Look how successful he/she is.”, right?

Basically, you’ve been PUSHING EXTREMELY HARD,with no results to show, for all the effort you’ve put in…Pretty tough to admit , ya?Believe me, I know the feeling.In fact, I’ve ran across 4 effective tips that I’m willing to share with you, because I know how much relief and this was when discovered them.

For many, many years, like most people in the MLM industry, I’d been taught by my upline trainers that the fast track to MLM success was to:

1. Enroll family and friends.2. Use the 3-foot rule with strangers.3. Attend local meetings, regional and national conferences, and so on…

…and with a little luck and some hard work, I’d be a millionaire in 2-3 years.

What I realized after 2 years of this nonsense was that these methods were not going to provide me with the outcome I’d been looking for.

I’d been exposed to countless “working from home ideas”. Moms working from home. Grandpas working from home. Retired policemen, teachers, lawyers, doctors…yep, you guessed it.

They all had figured it out…how to make money working from home.

And if they could do it, so could I…RIGHT?

Nope. At least not until I woke up and had a moment of evaluating my business…

Thankfully, I did receive that wakeup call and realized that 99% of what MLM trainers were teaching me in my business was a lie designed to rob me of my hard earned cash and sanity by offering “trainings” that delivered me absolutely ZERO results.

…and yes, it’s also true that I did get my act together and build an online lead generation system that’s bullet proof, 95% automated, and pre-builds a relationship with tens of thousands of my potential buyers each month, thereby increasing my sales volume by 650% during a recession while cutting my actual work hours by a third.

It didn’t happen overnight.

So what if you need IMMEDIATE results?

Just to let you know, the majority of my efforts are focused on driving targeted traffic through ethical, educationally based marketing funnels (i.e. “Mindful Marketing”), I’m not opposed to teaching people the right way to source and optimize lead files, because at the end of the day, practicing with these lists only increases your verbal skill set, which is still (last I checked) the #1 MONEY MAKING SKILL SET ON THE PLANET.

If you’re lost on how to source and profit from Genealogy leads, follow these 4 steps to avoid being burned:

Step 1: Find a viable lead source.

The key here is to get into action as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, genealogy leads are the cheapest leads you can source – often for under a penny a piece – so you really can’t go wrong here. The strategy at this point is to cut your teeth and develop your phone skill set, so don’t get too hung up on lead quality starting out. However, it’s still a smart move to purchase small quantities (under $ 100 per list) to start.

Step 2: Be prepared to do some scrubbing.

Every lead file is going to have bunks (disconnected or otherwise invalid #’s), and some are as high 50%. Be prepared for this and remember, it’s still WAY faster and far more effective than using the 3-foot rule with strangers.

Step 3: Use a proven script.

Without a proven script you’re dead in the water.

You need to focus on the PROSPECT and what THEY want (NOT on what you want them to do). A proven script has the following components:

- Greet your prospect in a unique way (that they likely haven’t heard before)- Identify if you have something in common with them- Ask your interest question (“if I could show you a way…”)- Schedule them to learn more about your offer

Step 4: Track your stats.

Tracking stats over time allows you to measure the growth in your skill set. Stats allow you to evaluate the profitability of different marketing messages. When dialing, make sure to track Dials, Connects, Invites, and Closes.

This is key. If you can’t measure the actions you’re taking to grow your business – then you don’t have a business, period.

But once again, let me be very clear:

Genealogy lead sourcing is still a part of “SELLING”.

It does NOT address the bigger issue plaguing MLM, and that is that most reps are taught to act like wolves who aren’t even remotely interested in helping people find solutions to their problems.

They’re taught how to drone on and on about the brilliant products they represent, the “can’t miss” business opportunity they’re aligned with, while completely disregarding the needs of the people they’re supposed to be serving.

The result?

Well, one thing I can tell you is the people trained on these methods, by and large, have NO CLUE how to make money working from home.

And time is running out…

3. (The “this sounds like a” person) -This person is either a borderline or a full blown conspiracy theorist. They’ll say this because they don’t realize that non-legit opportunities don’t offer tangible products and services like you do.

4. (The cry-baby)- This person is so busy crying about how bad their life is that they can’t hear your enthusiasm about your new mlm home business. They think that everything in their life that could go wrong. has gone wrong. They’ll just see your home based mlm business opportunity as just another thing that may go wrong.

5. (The lazy marketer) – This person may be the most dangerous of them all because though he joined you in your home based mlm business opportunity; he hasn’t done any work to promote and market the business. He expects results to just fall in his lap so he just sits back and waits. Funny thing is that when he sees no results from his inaction he turns to you like it’s your fault.

These people should be kept away from your mlm business opportunity at all costs. Their negative aura will do nothing but reflect negatively on you, your surroundings, and your home based mlm business opportunity.

Working at home, in your own time at your own pace, is very wise idea for most and this makes MLM marketing even more attractive.

Getting into online MLM Business offers spectacular opportunities. Money can be made here. This has been proven time and again, albeit only by the few.

From those who entered the online MLM business only 3% to 5% made it. The rest failed. Miserably. It does not even matter what the mode of plans were adopted or what products. It has always been the same. The people who have succeeded are most likely to succeed even with other programs while those who failed will most likely, fail again.

Statistically, only about 50 in every 1000 strike a good paycheck at online MLM business. Out of the 1000 new distributors, about 850 drops out within their first year of operation. Most recruits and new distributors, in all probability only market tested the products.

So why has this concept that was popular among entrepreneurs during the turn of the 20th century flawed. Why has it been failing for most people when on paper the idea is flawless?

One of the main reason that is has been failing is that people are selling instead of marketing, people focuses on the products rather than the system.

Online MLM business is selling a business or the concept of the business. Instead people join the business to sell a product. That is the difference.

Consequently, people on the upline, those who have made it to better paychecks may know this, yet let it be said that people that market this way are primarily concerned with numbers. The more downline one has, the better the returns could become. And people can loose money. Lots of it. Hundreds of thousands fail and the few make it on the backs of those that failed.

But people are buying into online MLM business. And while people who are not really that interested into setting up their own businesses in the first place are being sucked, those who have succeeded keep extending their downlines. The greatest lie that is being sold in the business is earning big money for doing very little. It is disconcerting that people instead of being sold the concept is being sold the idea that almost no work is needed as other people will be doing the work for you. In all probability, this are the same lies that are being sold to people down the line. But people keep buying. Round and round we go.

Still online MLM business is a very good concept. But just like any excellent idea, one has to have a very firm grasp of it. It still remains a good plan for people to succeed, even if only 5% of those who joined it have something to show for it.

Online MLM business is hard work. In fact your success in this is often commensurate to the amount of work that you has to be done.

It requires research and knowledge, the continued upgrading of skills and sound marketing strategies. It entails very good management systems that are professional tools not for MLM companies but to assist the distributor.

To be good at online MLM business, to have a decent chance of surviving in it will require joining a good management team that focuses not only in numbers but in making its distributors good people.

Systems applied in the online MLM business must include comprehensive solutions that can offer recruiting websites and do administrative tasks to have a full control in managing the entire online MLM business.

To enable you to strike it good, one will need all the assistance and support of the outfit that you are joining. Otherwise one will just then be someone who believed the lie and become another statistic.
